Nokcha Cafe is a Korean fushion-themed cafe serving various main course and mainly green tea-based desserts. It’s just a few meters beside EIO Patisserie, so it wasn’t too hard to find.
The place wasn’t too big, accommodating 15-20 people maximum, but it’s nice and cozy inside, perfect for hanging out and having a quick meet up with friends.
Aside from dessert, they also serve a variety of main course. It was ironic because despite being a cafe that should’ve specialized in selling desserts, I’d rather have their main course than dessert menu.
Jeyuk Bokkeum Potaffle with Salad – IDR75,000++
These were korean-styled stir-fry Pork with potato waffles, eggs, and mozzarella cheese on top. I like that each components and tastes were complimenting each other, but I felt that there’s just to much carbs on this dish, i can’t figure out whether I should categorize it as a main dish or as a snack.
I like their potaffle, it’s just that it came out cold and not as crispy anymore. The stir fry pork wasn’t bad either, and the eggs were just the way I like it!
Tangsuyuk Honey Toast – IDR75,000++
It cam in quite a large portion. These were sweet and sour deep-fried pork put inside a hollowed honey-glazed toast. It looks and it smells so good! I was hoping for more mozzarella cheese on top but it was alright!
Kkam pung Gi Bibim Myeon – IDR65,000++
This was my favorite! I thought it would came out with a small portion, but I was wrong – it was quite large and filling! I didn’t expect much from the cold noodles, but every bite was very addicting because it’s very light and refreshing!
The chicken was also soft and tender, very well-marinated and fragrant!
Oreo Nokcha Cheesecake – IDR304,000++
I was expecting a lot from their dessert, but I was quite disappointed because not only it was so small in size, I felt like it has hardened because it’s left on the counter for some time already.
Nokcha Financier – IDR30,000++
It wasn’t as good either, a very small (I think just 5-7cm) sized financier that is too hard and crumbly for my taste.
Overall Nokcha is a pleasant cafe that would be perfect for someone to have a small chat with their friends, or just have some quick alone time. Despite the rather disappointing dessert, I thought that the main dish was quite nice.
