I’ve heard a lot of positive reviews of this place – coming especially from Japanese food lovers in Jakarta. Sushi Masa is located right at the edges of the city, it may feel slightly unconvincing at first, but you’ll be glad to visit this place once you take a bite from one of its menu items!
Sushi Masa offers a wide variety of fresh sashimi items. I ate quite a lot of their ultra fresh sashimi, every slice was so thick and juicy too!
Their sashimi prices range from IDR12,000/pcs to more than IDR110,000/pcs. It’s quite pricey, but it was quite delicious indeed.
If you don’t like anything raw, they also offers the ‘aburi’ (partially grilled) version of it – just as tasty!
Aside from their fresh sashimi, Sushi Masa also offers a lot of fully-cooked Japanese main courses. There were some fushion menus as well.
Fried Roll With Tar Tar – IDR80,000++
It came out looking so beautiful I can’t wait to take pictures of it! Crispy on the outside, but so dense yet soft towards the inside, I loved every bite of it!
Niku Udon – IDR90,000++
Their Niku Udon didn’t impress much, but it wasn’t bad. The soup was mild yet flavorful and the Udon’s texture was just right – not too chewy nor too slimy.
Ah, and I never forget to order a serving of Chawanmushi (steamed eggs) in my every visit to a Japanese restaurant!
It was a bit too eggy and watery for my taste, but since I basically liked the very concept of ‘steamed eggs’, it’s still fine by me.
Overall it was a great experience. If you are thinking of having a family gathering in some nice Japanese restaurant, I would definitely recommend the place!
