It’s been a long time since I wanted to try visit Arasseo. I finally got the chance to visit for lunch with my family. The interior design was unique – a contemporary secluded hidden getaway cave! It was clean yet refreshing at the same time.
Kimchi – Complimentary
Like any other Korean restaurant, Arasseo offers complimentary traditional Korean appetizers. They only have Kimchi & some chips, but it was undoubtedly one of the BEST Kimchi I’ve ever tasted!
It was so fresh and ‘crispy’, wasn’t overly fermented so it’s not too sour. It was so good that I just have to ask the waitress for seconds!
Riceballs – IDR15,000++
Urgh, how can a simple Rice Ball be SO GOOD?! Seriously you must try this, and it’s only priced at IDR15,000 to!! It’s so tasty and savory, very fragrant from the pieces of sesame seeds and seaweed too!
Roast Toast – IDR105,000++
I thought that this would be an ordinary half-roasted chicken, but nope I was proven wrong! The portion was bigger than I imagined, and it tastes heavenly too!
The plating looks dry and scarce, but believe me there’s so much going on with the taste and fragrant! It was so tender on the inside, yet they can still retain the crispy texture of the chicken skin from the outside. The special sauce also adds a whole new flavor and fragrance, and it seeps right through the depths and corners of the chicken meat! Absolutely stunning!
Mashy Mushy – IDR97,000++
The sole purpose of my visit to Arasseo is to try these! It’s grilled mashed potato pizza with fried chicken (topped with something that tastes like kimchi/sweet and sour sauce?) and mozzarella cheese. It looks so mouth watering, and it tastes as good! The chicken was tender and the mozzarella cheese goes very well with the slightly spicy and sweet-and-sour sauce. It was huge too!
Cheese Chicken – IDR94,000++
This was fairly similar in taste (thus, it taste just as good too!) with the Mashy Mushy, except that they use assorted sauteed vegetables instead of mashed potatoes, and chicken bulgogi instead of fried chicken. I personally loved both of them, and I think you won’t be able to tell the difference taste-wise, so I’ll leave it to my fellow foodie readers to choose which one they prefer.
This was so good, no wonder it became one of their signature dishes!
Overall I honestly think that it was WORTH IT! All of the food served was delicious, they have huge portion sizes, making the price simply worth the quality & quantity. The waitress was friendly and waiting time was fairly quick. Need I say more? Definitely will come back!
