It’s been quite sometime since the ‘Melting Cheese’ hype began, and Ojju restaurant is definitely one who sparked the hype! They recently opened a new branch in Grand Indonesia, so I was feeling particularly inspired on writing a post about them.
Ojju is located in the UG floor at Kota Kasablanka Mall. You’ll really need to prepare yourselves for long queue time because it’s always crowded especially during the weekends
Rolling Cheese Chicken – IDR99,000++
This is their signature dish at Ojju – the ROLLING CHEESE series! They also have the ribs variety for IDR219,000+ per portion. Since my family loves everything chicken, we ordered the chicken version.
It’s as the menu said, plenty for 2, enough for 3! I don’t know about the ribs, but I though the rolling cheese chicken was WORTH IT! Any cheese lover would be so happy to see how generous they are with the massive amount of mozzarella cheese provided!
There was quite a lot of chicken wings pieces too, everything was very well-marinated and seeps to the depths and corners of the chicken pieces!
You could choose the level of spiciness for the chicken/ribs – Mild, Spicy, and Fiery. I choose the ‘mild’ level since I can’t stand spicy food, and it was alright. Everything blends well with the spicy, savory, and sweet flavor. I am definitely in chicken cheese heaven!
You can choose to roll your own chicken pieces or the waitress will aid you to cook and roll everything nicely. Since I am eager to snap a LOT of pictures, I choose to let them do all the cooking for me! XD
Fried Rice – IDR29,000++
After you finished all the chicken, there’s still some leftover (scrumptious) sauce and mozzarella cheese all over the pan. If you’re quite hungry and need something ‘heavier’ to fill you stomach, you request them to made fried rice (for another IDR29,000++) out of all the heavenly sauce and cheese left in the pan! Need more cheese? Don’t worry they’ll have it for you for an additional IDR19,000++!
They’ll create these cute little hearts out of the eggs too! It’s definitely a very nice and flavorful fried rice, quite affordable too for IDR29,000++, it’s enough for 2-3 person!
Overall I thought it’s a really memorable experience visiting Ojju restaurant. Of course the long queue (I waited for 2 hours before getting a seat!) might be quite unbearable for some, but it’s definitely worth it! For the portion size, I thought it was worth it too (of course, I can’t say the same about the ribs version, since I didn’t try it in the first place).
Definitely a place to go with your family/friends!
